Medical Education Department - School of Medicine - University Campus - Azadi Square

epartment of Medical Education was established in Medical School in 2008 admitting 5 master students for the field of medical education. This department has always been active on the way of spreading education and research. In 2009, 6 students were admitted for face-to-face education, and in 2010, department of medical education was the only educational department that enjoyed the official license for virtual education admitting 15 virtual students in medical education through paper tests and interviews. In 2014, the number of virtual students increased to 52 cases %60 of whom were faculty members.

In 2014, the first master curriculum of Educational Technology in Medical Education devised by the Department of Medical Education was confirmed by the expanding and programming Council of the Ministry. In 2015, the department admitted 7 students. Now, this educational department enjoys 13 students in face-to-face medical education and 50 virtual students in community-based education in Health System. Virtual students of this department in medical education are more than 50 ones enjoying their education and programs in three educational blocks.

Department of Medical Education enjoys educational and research experts trying to take more influential and efficient steps toward education and research through establishing the research center of evidence-based education. Academic board of this department consists of 4 full time and 3 part time faculty members with 1 full professor, 2 associate professors, 1 assistant professor and 3 lecturers.

The practical units of the newly established field of educational technology in medical education can be passed in the laboratory equipped with the most update equipment and devices as well as simulation room for virtual audio record and content production.
